TRACK STARTS OFF FAST
Running in their first meets of the season over the weekend, several Blue Tigers earned either automatic or provisional qualifying marks. The Lincoln University indoor track and field teams competed at the Fast Start Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale on Dec. 8 and in Normal, Ill. on Dec. 9 in the Redbird Open at Illinois State University.

Other notable performances from the Fast Start Invitational; Nessa Paul took first place in the One mile run (5:10.81) and 800 meter run (2:21.02), Natoya Thompson was fourth in the high jump (1.64m). Carlington Marsh place first in the 400 meter dash (49.48), Ricardo Foster was second (49.61) and Raymond Richards came in fourth (50.10). Michael Trusty took fourth in the 200 meter dash (22.22) and Rupert Smith crossed the finish line third in the 800 meter run (1:59.75).

The Blue Tiger track teams are off until Jan. 12, 2007 when they run in their closest meet of the season to the Jefferson City, Mo. campus. The Lincoln University indoor track and field teams compete in the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Mo. on Friday, Jan. 12. The meet starts at 4:00 p.m. with field events and the track schedule beginning at 5:00 p.m.
