BULLDOGS FEAST ON BLUE TIGERS

As Lincoln University searched for their offense, while playing their third Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association member of the season, Truman State University got to the free throw line at will in the first half and pounded the paint in the second half to record a 64-50 win on Dec. 2 in Jason Gymnasium.

Truman State ended a see-saw first half with a 7-0 spree in the last 2:49 to take a 29-22 advantage into halftime.  More than half of the Bulldogs 29 first half points came from the free throw line (15-of-18; 83 percent).  Georgia Mueller scored 13 of the Bulldogs 29 first half points.

Lincoln University fought from behind most of the second half.  The Bulldogs increased their lead to double digits and maintained it consistently for the remaining 15:05.  The Truman State margin ballooned to a game high 21 on two separate occasions, last occurring at the 2:36 mark (63-42) of the second half.

Though neither team shot well from the field (Bulldogs 37 percent; Blue Tigers 30 percent), the Bulldogs out-rebounded the Blue Tigers 44-22.  It is the fifth time this season that Lincoln University has lost the rebound battle.

Mueller led all scorers with 25 points and yanked down 15 rebounds.  Candace McGee tossed in 14 points and Natalie Schupbach added 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Brezette Elder-Wade scored 18 points for Lincoln University.  Jasmine Washington contributed 10 points and team highs in rebounds (4), steals (4) and assists (3).

These two teams meet in Kirksville, Mo. on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
