BLUE TIGERS ADD THREE
The Lincoln University softball team added to their roster after receiving signed National Letters of Intent from Jessica Fowler, Pamela Myers and Karen Plaster.
Fowler (Jr., 5-7, RHP/2B) joins the Blue Tigers after playing for the Forest Park Highlanders in St. Louis, Mo. She led the Forest Park softball team to an NJCAA Division II Region XVI Championship this past spring. While playing for Ken Williams, head coach of the Highlanders, Fowler posted an Earned Run Average of 2.14 in 223.1 innings pitched for Forest Park. Fowler was a First Team Region XVI and First Team All-Midwest Community College Athletic Conference selection in 2006. She sported a .348 batting average during her two seasons of play for the Highlanders. Fowler averaged 57 hits and 35 runs batted in while playing on the junior college level. She is a 2004 graduate of Pacific High School, where she was coached by Tom O’Neill.
Myers (Jr., 5-8, 1B/3B) is coming back to softball after playing most recently for East Central College (Union, Mo.) in the spring of 2005. She was named to the First Team All-Midwest Community College Athletic Conference in 2005. Myers is a 2003 graduate of Washington (Mo.) High School, where she was coached by Greg Dunigan.
Plaster (Fr., 2B/OF) will be contributing for the Blue Tigers at second base and the outfield. In her final season of high school softball, she helped lead the Indians to the championship of the Linn Tournament and a runner-up finish in Class 2 District 9. In the fall of 2005, she was picked second team All-Show Me Conference and named All-District in Class 2 District 9 as a catcher. Plaster a 2006 graduate of Russellville (Mo.) High School was coached by Jennifer Polly at Russellville.
“I’m excited to add them to our roster,” said softball head coach Lori Reyes.
The Blue Tigers open their 2007 softball season on February 20 at the Lincoln University Softball Field with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against Rockhurst University (Kansas City, Mo.).
