International Student Admission Requirements
Lincoln University is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. In addition to the regular admission requirements, an international student must also:
Demonstrate English proficiency as evidenced by one of the following: a) an official score of at least 500 (paper-based), 173 (computer-based) or 61 (internet-based) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); b) an official score of at least 75% on the MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery); or c) a letter from the University of London certifying that the applicant possesses the General Certificate of Education (GCE). Exempted from this requirement are students having English as their native language.
Submit an Affidavit of Financial Support covering the entire period of expected enrollment. No financial aid is provided to international students entering Lincoln University on student visas.
International students must show proof that they can finance their education at Lincoln University before an I-20 form will be issued. A transfer student should not assume that his/her application for transfer will automatically be approved since the United States Immigration Service expects a student to remain at his/her original institution unless there is a valid reason for changing schools.
An international student may receive transfer credit for Advanced-Level General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations, if applicable to Lincoln University's programs. A student desiring this credit should submit official documents to the Office of Admissions for the evaluation of his/her certificate. These documents should accompany the application for admission; they will not be considered after the first semester of enrollment at Lincoln University.
Enrollment in the student health insurance program is required of an international student attending the University.
An international applicant should not send any fee payments other than the application for admission fee until formal admission has been acknowledged by the University.
