Connecting to Lincoln iPlanet email with AOL

Problem: When opening Lincoln University iPlanet email when using AOL as a service provider, users are able to connect and log in to the email server. Users are logged out of the server and receive an error that says, "Session Expired, Please Log In Again:.

Cause: The error is the result of AOL's browser using protocols that are not allowed through the firewall.

Solution: (1) Log in to AOL as normal.

(2) Minimize the AOL program by clicking the minimize button in the top right corner (third button from the right that looks like a minus (-) sign). Do not exit AOL.

(3) Double-click on your Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.

(4) Type the iPlanet email address in the address field and click "go". Log in to iPlanet email as normal.
