Photo of LU Choir The Lincoln University Choir was formed four decades ago, as an adjunct to the music department. The initial purpose for the choir was to provide additional musical education for students to assist the University's recruiting efforts.

The Lincoln University Choir performs all kinds of music, from 15th century cantatas to gospel and contemporary jazz. The group has performed for the United Negro College Fund, Missouri Educators Association, Missouri State Legislature, churches and high schools throughout the Midwest.

The Concert Choir has received numerous awards and accolades since its inception. The group traveled to New York to sing in Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble in November 2001. They also performed at the Second Annual President's Concert (2001). Dr. Rayl and Mr. Halsey (guest directors) visited LU to provide workshops for our students. LU choir students participated in a Directors Seminar at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. They host both Annual Winter and Spring concerts.

The Lincoln University Choir is a non-audition choir developing excellence in repertoire and performance.
