Health/CPR/Insurance Requirements for Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion


Prior to Nur. 370, 420, and 480, students are required to have up-to-date immunizations, CPR certification, and insurance coverage as specified below.

·        RN licensure in good standing in the State of Missouri

·        current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or

.        American Red Cross CPR certification (must cover infant, child and adult)

·        professional liability insurance coverage

·        criminal background check

·        drug screens for certain clinical experiences

·        hepatitis B vaccine series

·        MMR vaccine or antibody test

·        tetanus vaccine

·        varicella vaccine or titer

·        annual Mantoux TB skin test.

Due to the nature of clinical experiences and the risk of exposure to injury and illness, all nursing students are strongly encouraged to have health insurance. The cost of treatment for illness or injury is the responsibility of the individual student.
