Objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing


Program Objectives
Upon completion of the program, students will possess the knowledge, skills and values required to practice as a professional nurse in caring for the sick, promoting health, and providing population based care across all environments. They will also be prepared for graduate education.


Students will:

1. Use theory and research-based knowledge in providing professional nursing care to individuals, groups, and populations and works collaboratively with the patient and interdisciplinary health care team.
2. Design, manage, and coordinate outcome based-health care for individuals, groups, and populations.
3. Practice as a member of the profession of nursing by embracing lifelong learning, incorporating professionalism into practice, and identifying with the values of the profession of nursing.
4. Demonstrate the ability to utilize critical-thinking, communication, assessment, and technical skills in providing professional nursing care.
5. Be prepared to pursue graduate studies in nursing
