Mission of the Nursing Department

The nursing faculty adheres to the mission of  Lincoln University. The AAS nursing faculty believes that nursing is a service of helping people meet basic human needs, maintain homeostasis, and achieve the highest possible level of wellness.  Nursing education provides students with knowledge from the arts and sciences as well as from the nursing sciences.

The mission of the BSN Completion Program at Lincoln University is preparation of registered nurses for professional nursing practice. The BSN program serves a diverse student population, and is structured to provide class offerings at times convenient to practicing RNs. Emphasis within the program is placed on role development and core competencies essential to professional nursing practice, as defined by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (1998). Nursing faculty is committed to meeting the needs of our students and the community through ongoing program evaluation and revision.
