Dean's Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Moving the business curriculum forward to achieve accreditation.
  2. Assisting with the organizational restructuring of the College.
  3. Enhancing faculty, staff, and student morale.
  4. Enhancing student recruitment and diversity.
  5. Enhancing faculty diversity.
  6. Conducting program assessment and needs analysis.
  7. Fund raising in cooperation with the University's overall fund raising goals.
  8. Strengthening academic programs and designing curricula that respond to student and job market needs/opportunities (especially business, computer science and technology.)
  9. Enhancing evening and weekend programs and classes offered to meet the needs of our constituent communities.
  10. Assessing and ensuring effectiveness of department and division heads, directors, and program productivity.
  11. Assisting in promoting and positive image of the University, particularly of the programs and quality of service in your College.
  12. Promote and assess scholarly activity, service, and excellent teaching among the faculty.
  13. Promoting and assisting with continued development of the University's strategic plan and goals and ensure that faculty, staff, and department heads are evaluated on the extent to which they assist you in adhering to the plan and to achieving its goals.
  14. Ensuring that College programs support, promote, and enhance the University's mission as approved by the Coordinating Board of higher Education and the Board of Curators - especially the 1890 land grant, open enrollment and diverse student population aspects.
  15. Providing sound and prudent fiscal management of the College, which reflects an understanding of and assistance with the fact that Lincoln is currently a small institution having limited resources and limited state assistance.
  16. Becoming knowledgeable about University business and other policies and ensured that the college and its personnel adhere to these policies.
