Counseling Services Information

COUNSELING SERVICES PROVIDED

Students generally enter the Counseling and Career Services Office for counseling services through one of the three methods: 1) self-referred, 2) instructor/staff referral, or 3) University President referral (part of non-academic probation). Students receiving services should make an appointment with a counselor and make every attempt to keep the scheduled appointment. Students who receive mandatory counseling (from the President due to their non-academic probation status), and do not keep their appointment should be reported (in writing) directly to
the President's Office, with a copy to the Vice President for Student Affairs.

REFERRAL/CONFIDENTIALITY

Outside referrals are made through the Director. It is preferred that a relationship is established with the student, prior to the outside referral, if this is possible. All counseling information will be held in the strictest confidence. Confidential information regarding the student will not be released without the student's permission.
