Environmental Science

Current research activities of the program are mainly focused on the areas of contaminant characterization, water quality, environmental monitoring, risk management, sensing technology, greenhouse gas sequestration and development of remedial technologies that lead to sustainable solutions for cleanup and restoration of impaired environments. Most of the projects are funded by various federal and state agencies. The program has excellent research facilities and laboratories that are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and up-to-date software to meet research needs.
