STUDENT ACCOUNTS FAQ's

Q.  How do I set up a payment plan?

A.  Payment Plans are available to all students through Nelnet/FACTS.  To complete a payment plan with Nelnet/FACTS, go to WebAdvisor and click on the Students tab.  A link to Nelnet/FACTS Payment Plans is available within both the Financial and Registration sections.

 

Q.  I am expecting a Federal Stafford Loan or Plus Loan. How does this affect my bill?
A.  Loans are received by the institution electronically and are processed according to applicable Financial Aid regulations. Loans are posted to the student account within three days of receipt of the funds.  Any credit balance in excess of all tuition and other account charges will be refunded to the student no later than two weeks after the loans are posted.

Parent Plus loans are also received electronically and are processed in the same manner as the Federal Stafford loans.  Credit balances will be refunded to the student or the parent as elected by the parent.

Alternative loans will be processed in the same manner as Stafford and Parent Plus loans.  

Q.  My Stafford Loan (or other government loan) has not come in yet.  What should I do?
A.  If your loan application has been processed by the Financial Aid Office, the loan amount will be taken into account. However, you are required to make financial arrangements with Student Accounts and may be required to make a payment if your loan has not yet been awarded.

Q.  What forms of payment does the University accept on my student account?
A.  We accept payments by cash (at the Cashiers window) check, money order, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Credit card payments may also be made by telephone at (573) 681-5054.

Q.  How and when do I get a bill?
A.  Bills are mailed to any student who has an outstanding balance on his/her student account as of the beginning of the month. Additionally, term specific statements will be mailed each time a change in registration takes place during periods of Registration.  Statements are mailed to the current permanent address on file. Contact the Student Accounts Office at (573) 681-5278 and/or come by during regular business hours if a statement is not received.

Q.  Will I always receive a bill?
A.  No. Bills are only sent to students who have outstanding balances.

Q.  Where will my bill be mailed?
A.  The Office of Student Accounts uses the student's permanent address on file with the Records Office. It is the student's responsibility to maintain current and accurate addresses with the Records Office.

Q.  How do I receive a book voucher?
A.  If you are eligible to charge books to your student account, you may proceed to the bookstore and present your student ID.  The bookstore will have your information.  To be eligible to charge bookstore purchases to your student account, you must have more financial aid than account charges OR a book scholarship OR a third party sponsorship covering your book purchases.
