Lincoln University Reports Enrollment Increase
[Jefferson City, MO] As a new academic year begins at Lincoln University the institution is reporting an increase in its freshman class and overall enrollment. As of Friday, August 21, 694 first-time freshmen were enrolled at the university. That is a nearly 21 % increase from 2008, when the freshman class numbers stood at 575.
Total enrollment for the university for the fall semester has also increased. A total of 2,848 students have enrolled for Fall 2009, compared to 2,592 in the previous year. The undergraduate student population is 2,658, up from 2,441 at the same time last year. Students pursuing graduate degrees increased to 190, from 151 in Fall 2008.
The university’s housing units are near capacity. According to the Office of Residential Life, the university offers a total of 913 beds in the eight residence halls and there are just 18 remaining beds available.
