Helpful links for students include:

Counseling and Career Services

Counseling and Career Services (CCS) provides high quality service in the areas of personal, academic, social, and career counseling to the University's diverse student population.   Additionally, CCS serves as a support system in conjunction with the academic areas, while simultaneously promoting student growth and development, thus contributing to the learning process beyond the classroom. Students with a disability should contact the CCS for assistance. Telephone: (573) 681-5162.  Click here to e-mail CCS

Center for Academic Enrichment

The Center for Academic Enrichment (CAE) coordinates academic support by providing professional tutorial assistance in writing and mathematics and coordinating the Supplemental Instruction program. A computer lab in Room 319 Martin Luther King Hall is available on a limited basis. The lab offers e-mail, word processing, and Internet capabilities.

If you would like tutorial assistance with an online mathematics and/or  online writing assignment, you may make an appointment to meet with a CAE math or writing specialist. This service can be provided either face-to-face or over the telephone. Telephone: (573) 681-5968. Click here to e-mail CAE.

Page Library

The library /information mall has several departments which correlate and function together to provide the best possible information access to the University. It is our hope that our patrons will profit from their experience in this enriched academic environment.  A variety of electronic resources are available in addition to the materials available in the library. A new “learning commons area” will open in fall, 2008.  Laptop collaboration and innovative technology will be the primary focus of this area.  The Blue Tiger Lab requires an LU ID, a username and password which is the same as your LU e-mail access.  The LU University community has access to more than 3 million volumes online from other Mobius institutions throughout the state of Missouri.  There are more than 200,000 volumes available onsite.  Community patrons may check out three volumes.

Student Support Services

The goal of Student Support Services (SSS) is to make certain that every student who comes to us for help stays in school and not only graduates, but learns to be self-sufficient, so he/she can move on to further studies or a great career. We believe that given the opportunity, you can and will succeed!

In addition to offering tutoring in all the major disciplines, SSS provides weekly workshops and lectures to aid in the process of adjusting to life on campus, in learning to take notes and tests, and to budget your time and money, among other things.  Additionally, SSS takes participants on educational/cultural field trips to places they might not otherwise have the chance to visit.  To participate in these services and programs, contact the SSS office.  Telephone:  (573) 681-5974.  Click here to e-mail SSS.
