To select a common read that engages readers and increases their understanding of the writer’s subject,

 

 

 

To select a common read that supports the discussion of a diversity of perspectives on issues related to the content,

 

To select a common read that invites multiple activities and experiences across disciplines and campus groups,

 

To create relevant activities that enrich the common reading experience and create a sense of community among participants,

 

To encourage and provide support for faculty and others who want to integrate the common read selection into their courses or activities, and

 

To work with community groups, such as the local library, as a way to enrich all participants experiences based on the common read selection.
