Committees

Following are the standing committees of the Staff Council, their functions, and members. Volunteers are still needed to serve on these committees. The bylaws state that committee chairs shall be elected Staff Council representatives, so these will change after elections.

Professional Development, Recognition and Orientation: Review programs and make recommendations for opportunities to enhance skills; facilitate new staff orientation.

Cindy Borgwordt (Chair), Kandy Campbell, Ruby Stewart, Ron Nelson, Steve Rackers, Jaymere Brown, Barb Melloway, Human Resources representative (Ex-Officio)

Nominations and Elections: Solicit nominations; prepare ballots; oversee the election process as outlined in the bylaws; develop and maintain a committee membership pool list.

Kelley Sturgis (Chair), Greg Dudenhoeffer, Melinda Downey, Kennette Herndon

Bylaws: Review and propose revisions to the bylaws as needed.

Randy Hill (Chair)

Policies and Procedures: Address issues relative to collective staff concerns (outside of grievance issues, which are addressed by university policy).

Joan Deboe (Chair)

Communications: Coordinate and provide information to staff employees concerning Staff Council activities; establish and maintain Staff Council Web page and listserv.

Pat Pollock (Chair) Michael Henderson, Deborah Grebing, Diane Morgan, Michelle Wilson

Special Events: Plan, coordinate, and schedule special events.
