
Golf Coach Jerry Coffman
Jerry Coffman is serving his 18th year as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Lincoln University. Coach Coffman received his B.S. degree in Physical Education from the University of Kansas. He completed his M.A. degree in Physical Education with a major in Human Performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 1982, Coach Coffman started his career at Lincoln University. Coach Coffman served as a Research Technician for the Minority Biomedical Research Support Program until his promotion to faculty rank in the Department of Education in 1984. Coach Coffman has also served Lincoln University in the area of Athletics, having served as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach from 1988 until 1991 and Head Men’s Golf Coach from January 1991 to the present. During his tenure as golf coach, the Blue Tigers won the 1998 MIAA Golf Tournament Championship and the 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2005 PGA National Minority College Golf Championships. In 2003, Coach Coffman was named the Heartland Conference Golf Coach of the Year. Coach Coffman has had the privilege of coaching twenty All-Conference players, two All-America players, and six All-American Scholars during his tenure. Recently, Coach Coffman was named to coach the Women’s Golf Program as well as LU’s Men’s Golf Program. The LU’s Women’s Golf Program will start playing in the Fall 2008.
