Matt Rose - Lincoln University

In 10 innings of work April 2-8, Rose earned two victories.  His first action of the week came in a 7-4 victory over Central Methodist University (Fayette, Mo.) when he struck out three in three innings.  Rose took the start in game three (April 7) of a Heartland Conference weekend set with Oklahoma Panhandle State University.  A hit in the sixth inning broke up a no-hit bid by Rose.  A subsequent error (unearned run) by the Blue Tiger defense spoiled the shutout bid for Rose.  The Blue Tigers prevailed in the game 9-1.

   Rose, who is tied for third in the Heartland Conference and team lead in complete games (4), had a 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio in his mound work last week.  Opponents last week hit .030 (1-33) against Rose in the two games.  While Rose was on the hill, the Blue Tigers outscored the opposition 13-1 in the two wins.

   He is currently, 4th in the Heartland Conference in strikeouts per game (7.54), 8th in opposing batting average (.262), 9th in ERA (4.57) and 10th in innings pitched 45.1. 

   Rose is an Agriculture/Wildlife Management major. He was the week 10 (April 3-9) pitcher of the week by the Heartland Conference in 2006.  Matt Rose is the son of Kevin and Kim Rose.
