GOLF AT THE BOTTOM AFTER DAY ONE

The Lincoln University golf team shot a 603 on the first day (March 26) of the KickingBird Classic in Edmond, Okla.  Leading the 15 team field is Abilene (Texas) Christian University with a 560.  The event hosts University of Central Oklahoma are tied for second with St. Mary’s University at 562.  The KickingBird Golf Club course is a 6722 yard, par 70, Mark Hayes design.

   Rodolfo Gamino was one of 13 golfers to shoot a 68 or lower in the second round.  Only four golfers shot a round in the sixties in the morning session.  Gamino and Aaron Murphy tied for the Blue Tigers low round of the day as each shot a 146.    

   Brady Jones (Midwestern State) and Blake Slaughter (St. Edward’s) are tied for the lead at 135.  Jimmy Willingham from St. Mary’s is third with a 136.
