
Head Coach Charles Terry
Charles Terry begins his fourth season as the head coach of the Blue Tigers men’s basketball team. Coach Terry began his education and playing career at Hutchinson Community College (Hutchinson, Kan.), where he earned his Associate of Arts degree in Physical Education in 1974. His honors at HCC included having been named co-captain, all-district, all-conference, Junior College All-America, Who’s Who in America Junior Colleges and Outstanding College Athlete.
Coach Terry graduated in 1976 from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, Ark.) with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. As a member of the Razorbacks basketball team, Terry was selected co-captain in both 1974-75 and 1975-76. As a 6-foot-4-inch guard, Terry was selected to the All-Southwest Conference second team in 1974-75 for averaging 10.6 points-per-game and 5.6 rebounds-per-game.
Terry began his coaching career as assistant basketball coach at Fayetteville (Ark.) High School from 1975-1977. From 1978-1987, he served as assistant at McClellan High School in Little Rock, Ark. In 1979, Coach Terry won the award as Pulaski County (Ark.) Newcomer of the Year. Terry was an assistant at Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, Kan.) from 1988-1990. He then became an assistant at the University of the Ozarks (Clarksville, Ark.) from 1990-1993. Coach Terry for the next seven seasons (1993-2000) was appointed men’s basketball assistant coach at Drury College, now Drury University (Springfield, Mo.). In 1995, Coach Terry graduated with a Master of Science in Education from Drury University.
Before being named Lincoln University Men’s Basketball Head Coach in August 2003, Terry served as men's basketball head coach for Oklahoma Panhandle State University (Goodwell, Okla.) from 2000-2003.
Coach Terry is originally from Emporia, Kansas. He is the son of the late Odessa and Paul James Terry.
