A Message from the Department Head

“Chance favors the prepared mind"

 Louis Pasteur (1822-1895)

Dept. Head

To come to Lincoln University, is to make the important decision to better prepare yourself for future challenges and opportunities through structured academic and other learning experiences.  At Lincoln, students are supported to learn by listening, seeking, finding, understanding, sharing, and getting things done as individuals, and as part of a team.

The education experience in the Department of Business and Economics at Lincoln is designed to enable students to achieve their personal educational objectives, develop aptitude, enhance personal abilities and other strengths, ameliorate weaknesses, and be roundly prepared to achieve sustainable long-term success in the real world of work as individuals and team players. This experience is enriched by the study of accounting, business education, entrepreneurship, economics, finance, management, marketing, organizational dynamics, and public administration and policy among others at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Undergraduate students may major and minor in accounting, agribusiness, business administration, business education, economics, marketing, and public administration. Graduate students may study for the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with emphasis in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Management, or Public Administration and Policy.

Students in the department have many opportunities to join one or more student organizations. Membership of student organizations provides students with enduring experience of working with others. These organizations offer students fertile opportunities for the acquisition of usable theoretical and practical people-based knowledge and skills.  There are also many opportunities for students to interact with business people and business organizations in the community and beyond. Students in the department are continuously encouraged to challenge themselves.

The department appreciates that you have taken the time to visit us. Please do not hesitate to contact the Department Secretary, Sheila McAllister, or myself, for further information.
