Minimum Supported PC Hardware

The following specification is the minumum hardware configuration that will be supported by OIT. In order for a PC to run the Novell Network Client32, McAfee Antivirus, WebAdvisor or Datatel UI, and Office 2007, a desktop PC must have a processor running at 2.2ghz, with no less than 2 GB RAM. Users without this minimum level of hardware may expect memory errors, slowness, and unexpected crashes. Additionally, support calls for machines with less than this minimum specification may be denied.

These minimum supported specifications have been approved by the Lincoln University Technology Committee. The committee recommends that budget directors consider budgeting replacements for hardware that does not meet these minimum specifications.

To order new computer hardware, review the PC Ordering Procedures page.
