Health Insurance
All students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during Fall & Spring Semesters are required to purchase the Basic Insurance Program. This health insurance may be waived by providing proof of alternate health insurance (an original insurance card and a signed waiver form) to Student Accounts. This insurance waiver must be completed each semester by the published Insurance Waiver deadline.
International students are required to participate in the health insurance program whether full-time or part-time. Health insurance coverage for international students may not be waived.
The cost for health insurance is $229 for the fall and spring semesters. This charge is automatically charged to student accounts at the end of the add/drop period. This insurance coverage is also available for spouse and/or dependents at an additional cost. For more information, please contact Student Health Services at (573) 681-5476.
Health insurance is also available for the summer session at a cost of $81. A student attending only in the summer semester may elect to purchase coverage for the summer semester only but it is not required. A student paying for insurance for the spring semester is covered through the summer session as well, so further charges do not apply.
NOTE: Health Insurance cannot be Waived in the Health Services Office. It may only be waived in the Student Accounts Office.
