| Description: | A postdoctoral opening is available immediately in Cooperative Research Program at Lincoln University. The initial appointment will be for one year, but longer appointments are possible depending on funding availability. Specifically, the project involves the investigation of the study of changes in soil microbial consortia as affected by different surfactants; behavior and toxicological effects of surfactants in the aquatic environments. The interaction of a surfactant with organic or inorganic compounds; remediation technologies including bioremediation and other chemical-biological combined technologies for the remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater. The duties of this position include, but not limited to, implementing research project; field sampling and laboratory analysis; data processing and statistical analysis; reporting and publications; and other duties as assigned by project director. | Qualifications: | Qualifications: the successful candidate should have a Ph.D in soil or environmental microbiology or related disciplines. Skills in using instruments such as Gas Chromatograph-Fatty Acid Methyl Ester(CG-Fame) Biolog MicroLog Plating System and, Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis(DGGE) are highly desirable. |
