| Description: | The Regional Educator-
Animal Science Small Ruminant [Goat and Sheep](Located in Newton County in Southwest Missouri The successful candidate: will work as the local representative of Lincoln University Cooperative Extension (LUCE) to develop and deliver research-based educational programs in the area of Animal Science related to Small Ruminants (Goats and Sheep) management, production and marketing that support producers, farmers, youth, families, community partners and Extension staff in Newton County (Southwest Missouri) and the surrounding area; collaborate with LUCE state specialists and cooperative research investigators, and work in partnership with University of Missouri Extension to execute the responsibilities of this position; cultivate relationships with county commissioners and councils, various community, state, and federal agencies, and utilize advisory committees, producer organizations, and other input to determine needs of a diverse audiences.

| Qualifications: | Minimum qualifications are:
Master's degree in Animal Science from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in small ruminant nutrition, management and production; A minimum of two years of direct experience working in the field of Animal Science with small ruminants (sheep and goats);
Strong written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency.
Preferred qualifications are: The ability to teach value added strategies related to sheep and goats; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ethnically diverse, limited resource (financial and/or educational) producers, farmers, individuals and families, in informal group settings; the ability to understand, write, and speak Spanish; and demonstrated success in writing grant proposals and receiving grant funds.
